Janine Povey

I went to see Lindsey a few weeks before Christmas to discuss dress number 12, my wedding dress. Getting married abroad in warmer weather meant the dress would have to be lightweight and withstand creasing in my luggage. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, but after a nice chat and a cup, and a good rummage through countless samples and fabrics, we both had an idea where we were going. I received some sketches and swatches by post to choose from, and the rest I left in Lindsey's safe hands. She knows my likes and dislikes so my dress, as important as it was, gave me no cause for concern.

I went with a friend to see the completed dress in January and it certainly didn't disappoint! The dress was waiting on a mannequin when I walked in, looking exactly as I had imagined it. It was a perfect fit and the veil completed the look I was after beautifully. My husband to be had no idea what my dress would be like, other than I'd told him not to expect anything traditional, but his face on the day was a picture.

One of the best things about my dress is that I'll be able to wear it again. I asked Lindsey to make a detachable bow, so when I want to wear it again the bow can be removed leaving me with a stunning party dress! As always I was delighted and genuinely can't rate Violet Flamingo highly enough.
